Festive Lush Haul

Every year without fail as soon as LUSH release their Christmas range I just have to get my hands on some of it & this year was no different. I don't know what it is that makes Lush so appealing to me, I love the whole atmosphere, the colourful products, the scents, the smiley staff who are always so knowledgable & willing to share the secrets behind each product, it's such a great lil place.

Surpisingly I'm yet to pick up a bottle of Snow Fairy Shower Gel, I'm still working my way through a bottle of The Comforter but I'm sure Snow Fairy will end up coming home with me soon. I am however the owner of the Magic Wand bubble bar so I'm still getting my fix of the sweet scent of Candyfloss & Peardrops! Another wand bubble bar made it's way into my basket too, The Magic of Christmas made up of Cinnamon & Cloves, it's a more traditional spicy Christmas fragrance, but one which I also really enjoy.

I picked up a couple of old favourites, Golden Wonder & Luxury Lush Pud. Golden Wonder bath bomb was actually the first product I tried from the Christmas collection a few years ago now. The present shaped bath bomb has a citrusy fragrance which begins by fizzing into lots of golden bubbles that then turn blue & purple when the 'gift' is unwrapped. It's fun & I'm pretty sure the novelty is never gonna wear off for me! Luxury Lush Pud bath bomb has got to be my favourite in terms of appearance, a cute multicoloured polka dot Christmas pudding! As soon as it's dropped into the water an array of colours appear, it's like a rainbow in the bath, love it.

Two new ones for me this year are Yog Nog & Bar Humbug. Yog Nog bath bomb smells like cinder toffee, I can't wait to have a bath with this now I've taken photos of it! I expect it will be really comforting & warming. Bar Humbug bubble bar is one you'll either love or hate, it's a bit of a marmite product! It's a similar one to The Comforter & Brightside bubble bars with their marble-esque veins of colours running through however the scent of liquorice isn't going to appeal to everyone. I don't think the liquorice is too overpowering though & actually find it to be quite refreshing.

The last product I bought isn't strictly a Christmas one, although it is a new one to me so I thought I'd include it anyway. You've Been Mangoed is a luxury bath melt, which smells incredible, so fresh & fruity. I've used a bath melt before & loved how soft it made the water, which resulted in my skin being super moisturised. They're a nice change if you don't fancy a big bath filled with bubbles but still want to have a good soak.

Have you picked up anything from the LUSH Christmas range yet?

LUSH Oxford Street Haul

The one place I knew I wanted to visit when I was in London was the new LUSH store that opened on Oxford Street in April. I'd heard all about the exclusive products that weren't stocked in any other store & really wanted to see them for myself so I hunted it down!

I'll just warn you incase you're planning on visiting, it was extremely busy, I actually felt really overwhelmed with how crowded it was & usually I'm not phased by London's busy shops and streets but it really got to me that day. I was determined not to let the claustrophobia feeling ruin my shopping plans so I powered through & wandered around the store. I did go back the following day however & it was a lot quieter so perhaps I picked the wrong time of day to visit!
I decided I would start on the top floor as that was were the bath products were located & nothing beats looking at the colourful array of bath bombs, melts & bubble bars. Something exclusive to the Oxford Street Flagship Store are the Luxury Bath Oils which melt in the bath water making it feel luxuriously soft and buttery, perfect for soaking in and giving your skin a real treat. I chose the one called Double Vitality (£2.00), star shaped & bright pink it's one of the cuter bath oils available! It contains peppermint & lemon, giving it a really zingy fresh fragrance. Whilst I was up on the third floor I also picked up the Milky Bath Bubble Bar (£3.75) which is actually available online now too. Unfortunately the bath oil residue found its way onto this little milk bottle so it's sporting some pinky-orange patches! Obviously this one smells really milky with a hint of Orange oil & the silver bottle cap is packed with cocoa butter to add an extra bit of softness. I love that the scent isn't overpowering & the touch of silver lustre that is added to the bath is pretty!
I then headed downstairs as I wanted to get a bottle of The Comforter Moisturising Shower Cream however they didn't have any left so had to settle for just the Comforter Shower Cream (£4.75) version. All the LUSH Shower Gels I've tried have always been really moisturising anyway so I didn't mind too much! This is the one product that seems to be the most popular, everyone seems to love it. It's described as a "snug berry hug" & it is exactly that, the warm, fruity & uplifting fragrance provides a 'comforting' aroma as you shower. If you like the Comforter Bubble Bar you need to get this, it's been spotted in other stores so i'm assuming this is going to be readily available everywhere! I then noticed the Shampoo Bars, which I know are stocked in all stores but I've never tried one & when I saw the peach coloured one covered in glitter I couldn't resist getting it! The Lullaby Shampoo Bar (£5.75) is one to use at night before bedtime as the combination of Chamomile, Ground Almonds, Oat Milk, Neroli Oil & Lavender soothe the scalp, raise your spirits whilst also relaxing you. I've been suffering with a sore scalp recently so I'm hoping this is going to help.

The final item I bought was the Cup O'Coffee Exfoliating Face & Body Mask (£.6.50), if you know me you know I love Coffee so I didn't even give this a second thought! I had actually gone downstairs to the basement where the Spa can be found as well as candles, massage bars & perfumes where I got chatting to one of the friendliest members of staff. Her product knowledge was amazing & she took me back upstairs to introduce me to the Coffee Exfoliator, she treated me to a hand massage before helping me locate a tub & ensuring I was happy with my visit. This Coffee infused mask helps to waken up your skin, making it look brighter & clear but also leaves the scent of Coffee on your skin hours after using it. I actually think this product was made for me haha!

christmas lush haul & giveaway!

Way back in October I headed into Lush as soon as they launched their Christmas range to browse the goodies & pick up a few treats. I always go a little bit overboard when it comes to Lush Christmas range, I mean I don't even have a bath of my own at the moment but I still bought bath products because I just couldn't resist!

Starting off with the most colourful of the bunch, Luxury Lush Pud - £3.50 is a bath bomb that not only looks amazing, but smells amazing too. It fills the bathtub with the prettiest array of colours, it's like a rainbow exploded it's so much fun to watch it fizzing away & spilling out lots of different colours! I bought The Melting Snowman - £2.25 as a Christmas gift for Abi one year but never got round to buying myself one so I finally bought this lil guy when I attended the Preston Lush Blogger Event! It's a bath melt with a spicy fragrance which makes the bath water feel very soft which in turn leaves your skin feeling silky soft as it's filled with cocoa butter. Candy Mountain Bubble Bar - £2.75 was one of my favourites last year so obviously I had to get it again this year! It smells kinda similar to Snow Fairy as it's quite sweet, the Lush website says it has the same fragrance as the Creamy Candy Bubble Bar, another of my favourite Lush products, I'm a sucker for anything vanilla based! Candy Mountain fills the bath with lots of shimmery bubbles & a sweet scent, last year I had 4 huge bubble baths with my bar so it's pretty good value for money too! The Christmas Hedgehog - £3.25 is new for 2014, it's not really got a festive scent it's quite floral with rose being one of it's main ingredients. I haven't actually used this yet but I can imagine the bubbles to be really soft as again it's filled with cocoa butter. Butterbear has to be the cutest bath bomb EVER! I love this lil bear so much, it's modelled on another of my favourites Butterball - £1.95 replicating it's vanilla fragrance & creamy cocoa butter bubble bath it nourishes & protects your skin. I bet you guys are sick of me mentioning Snow Fairy Shower Gel - £3.75 by now, but just incase you didn't know it's my most loved Lush product ever! I've done a full review here & mentioned it enough times on my blog so I'll leave it at that! So White - £3.50 is a pretty boring bath bomb on first impressions, however it's fruity fresh apple scent is what made me want to buy it. Once it starts to dissolve it surprises you by revealing a pretty pink centre! Cinders - £2.50 was the bath bomb we all got to make at the blogger event I mentioned earlier. It is probably the most festive scented product I've tried, a warm & spicy cinnamon fragrance with popping candy to give the effect of a crackling fire I'm going to save this one & use it on Christmas Eve!

Now onto the giveaway part... I've decided to treat one of my readers to a Lush Christmas product of their choice as a little Christmas treat! All you need to do is fill out the Rafflecopter form below to be in with a chance of winning (:

The giveaway will run from 4th December 2014 until 14th December 2014 & is UK only - sorry! There will be an International giveaway really soon though (:
Good luck!

The most adorable selection of bath treats put together to form the 'Festive Friends' gift box!
On Sunday I headed over to my local Lush store in Preston for a little event I helped to organise! Lush is probably one of my favourite stores to browse in & now that the Christmas range has been released I find myself popping in even more! The evening consisted of having a browse, asking lots of questions about their products, having a skincare consultation & even making our own Cinders bath bomb to take home! Being able to have free roam of the entire shop, trying out any products that took our fancy & being provided with little samples to take home with us, along with being treated to yummy snacks such as mini oreos was the perfect set up for a blogger event! There was also a chance to do some Christmas shopping so I took the opportunity to pick up a few more treats! My room literally smells like a Lush shop right now, I've so many bath products to try out, I'll be posting a Christmas Lush haul soon! (I did film a lush haul & upload it to YouTube a while ago but I'm not sure if I should publish it... do I, don't I!? Anyway, I had such a lovely evening, huge thanks to Dani for hosting the event for us! (:

lush christmas wishlist

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year... I'm one of those people that gets ridiculously excited seeing all the Christmas products hit the shops, even in August when the first few bits make an appearance I love it! One of my favourite Christmas releases has got to be the Lush Christmas range & I've been eagerly awaiting for their website to be updated with the products after seeing Zoe's post the other week! Without fail I always buy myself a couple of bottles of the Snow Fairy Shower gel, it's a super sweet scent but I'm addicted to it & can't wait to have it back in my life already! One of the new products for 2014 is the Butterbear Bath Bomb, how cute is this little teddy shaped bath treat! I'm drawn to it even more so because Cocoa butter is it's main ingredient & it has the same vanilla scent as the Butterball Bath Bomb, another fave of mine! I'm looking forward to soaking up the festive goodness & picking out a few treats to try, theres lots of new products this year & as always I'm attracted to the adorable animal ones. Last year my favourite Christmas product was the Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar, I didn't realise these were supposed to be crumbled under a running tap at first & ended up wasting a whole penguin by chucking it in the bath! After a google search to find out why there was a serious lack of bubbles from my "bubble bar" I learnt the proper way to use it & wasn't disappointed with the mountain of bubbles that appeared in my bath the next time I used one!  The Christmas range is available to buy in store from tomorrow & if I wasn't working all day I'd be heading straight over to my local one! No doubt there will be a Lush haul appearing over on here soon, or perhaps even over on my YouTube channel!? (Go subscribe if you're feeling kind & keep an eye out for a video coming soon...!)

Will you be picking up any of the Lush Christmas products?!

lush valentine's day collection

My blog has been like a little shrine to Lush products recently, I seem to be developing a serious addiction. There is nothing better than having a hot bubble bath when it's so cold outside though!! The newest range of products to be released by Lush is the Valentine's Day collection. The product that I was first drawn to was the Prince Charming Shower Gel, I can imagine it smelling amazing, mixed with marshmallow, vanilla, pomegranate, grapefruit & sandalwood it sounds as if it will be my ideal scent! Close To You Massage Bar looks like a pastel version of the yummy biscuit Jammie Dodgers, fragranced with Vanilla it's another product I'm hoping to try out. Love Locket Bath Bomb is an adorable heart shaped bomb inspired by heart shaped lockets you'd wear with a photograph of a loved one inside, a cute idea but the price did shock me, almost £7 for a bath bomb is a little crazy in my opinion! The gift sets would be lovely if you're struggling for Valentine's inspiration this year, hint hint Dom if you're reading this...

I always love seeing what seasonal products Lush bring out & I'm looking forward to going into my local store to see them all & maybe pick up a little treat!

lush snow fairy perfume

Lush Scent Snow Fairy - £25/30ml

When I heard LUSH had released a perfume version of my favourite shower gel, Snow Fairy, I knew I had to get my hands on it. Dom kindly bought it & hid it from me until Christmas! The scent is exactly like the shower gel, a very sweet combination of candy floss & pear drop exactly how you would expect a sweet-shop to smell like. The lasting power is amazing, but I assumed it would be anyway because even the shower gel lingers all day! You only need a tiny bit of this, similar with the shower gel, a little goes a long way. I do like the packaging as it's simple however I think LUSH could have made it a little more exciting as they usually have such pretty packaging & products, it would have been nice for each of their perfumes to match the rest of the product range. Sadly this Lush Scent was limited edition before Christmas & has now sold out but keep an eye out as they might release it again!

LUSH sale haul

If you didn't already know on Boxing Day Lush reduce all their Christmas stock by 50% which of course is very, very exciting for a Lush addict like myself! I popped along to my local store on Boxing Day as I didn't have any plans until the afternoon so had the chance to do some sale shopping in the morning. I'm kinda glad I had the opportunity to go in to a store because I've seen a few people ranting on Twitter about the slow despatch of their order & I'm way too impatient when it comes to waiting for orders to arrive!

I stocked up on a little & large bottle of Snow Fairy Shower Gel, the little one being an ideal size for when I travel up North to see my family. The large one will last me a long while, my previous bottle lasted from January right through to December, I did use a few other shower gels in between but a little goes a long way with this stuff :) I also bought the Snow Fairy Sparkle Bar which I think will be nice to use just before getting out of a bath as it's made with Shea butter which will keep my skin moisturised. I decided to get the Magic Wand as it's the solid equivalent of Snow Fairy Shower Gel so now I can have lots of sweet scented bubble baths!

I had to pick up another little Penguin, it was one of my favourite in the Christmas range & was less than £1.50 in the sale! I did buy two of these but gave one to my Mum so she could try it too. Finally Star Light, Star Bright bath melt is a shimmery silver star that leaves silver lustre everywhere, I loved how zesty & fresh it smelt though so I'm looking forward to using this, apparently this makes the bath water look like a turquoise silvery pool of star light which sounds pretty!

Did you pick up anything from the Lush sale?

lush the christmas penguin bubble bar

I think this has to be the absolute cutest product Lush have ever released, it almost broke my heart to crumble him up & use in my bath! I'm considering buying one to keep on display on my bathroom shelf, it looks adorable & the scent lingers too so it can act as a mini air freshener! Little penguin smells of oranges & lemons, turns the bath water a lovely aqua blue shade & leaves my skin soft. I did use the whole penguin in my bath, I know some people only use half but I wanted an extra bubbly bath, I didn't achieve the mountain of bubbles I was expecting though, that was the only slight disappointment!  It's definitely my favourite Lush product now, I'm going to stock up on a couple to last me through the year, I'll be sad to see these little guys leave the shelves after Christmas!

Have you had one of these little penguin bubble bars?

christmas lush haul

A couple of weeks ago now I popped into Lush to have a look at their Christmas range & there was just no chance I was going to be leaving empty handed! I've never seen so many amazing bath bombs, I love Lush all year round but there festive bath treats are my absolute favourites, they always have some really cute ones & they all smell SO blumin' good! I wanted to buy one of each but restrained myself to these 4! I'm going to do individual posts on each of them so I will go into more detail soon. I love how Lush have managed to make a christmas pudding look adorable by creating a pastel version of the traditional festive pudding! I can't cope with how cute the little penguin is, it's gonna be a struggle to bring myself to crumble him up & watch him turn into lots of bubbles!  I bought Snowman because it's the festive version of the moisturising bath bomb Butterball, they're both vanilla scented & filled with lots of cocoa butter. Whenever I have a bath using a Butterball bomb my skin is always extra silky soft afterwards so I'm hoping little Snowman will do the same thing! I'm addicted to picking up Candy Mountain & sniffing it for ages haha, I sound crazy now but it has a proper sweet-shop scent very similar to snow fairy & the creamy candy bubble bar!

LUSH soot ball bath bomb

I picked up this guy simply because Spirited Away is one of my favourite films & this little soot ball is pretty cute! It doesn't look like the most pleasing thing to drop into your bath though but it doesn't turn the water black anyway. Lush claim the water will become a luxurious golden lustre liquid, however I was kind of disappointed when it looked like I was sat wallowing in a mix of muddy pee water (I do have pictures but they really aren't nice to look at tbh!), it definitely wasn't golden or luxurious! The paper eyes floated about too which was a little bit creepy really & didn't add anything to the bath, I think they could have been more inventive with them, to at least make them disintegrate anyway! I don't want to be completely negative because I still think this little soot gremlin is adorable & it did smell nice too. I'm no good at picking out scents but the website tells me it is a sweet, spicy fragrance made up of Frankincense, Tonka & Sandalwood Oil & I do agree it smelt perfectly spicy with a hint of sweetness! The reviews on the website also seem to imply this product was recalled, so perhaps I got a dodgy one because I never experienced a golden-lustre filled bath, I was just left covered in black soot!

lush treats

Now I work full time 9-6 every day I am so so tired & literally have no time to myself, so when I got off the train at Waterloo & spotted the Lush store I headed straight there to pick up a few treats! All I knew was I wanted some pretty looking, sweet smelling bath bombs to be able to relax in a hot bubbly bath in the evenings after a long day. Also I felt it was completely necessary to buy some bath treats as I've moved to a flat where I finally feel comfortable actually having a bath... living in a mouse-infested/messy/smelly student house I just couldn't bring myself to sit in the grim looking bath, no matter how much bleach or cleaning products I used there was just no way!

I chose Tisty Tosty, Butterball & Creamy Candy. I told the sales assistant I was after a vanilla scented bath bomb so she directed me to Butterball which is filled with cocoa butter too, perfect to protect my skin. Tisty Tosty was recommended to me by the sales assistant, I'm not usually a fan of floral scented products but this isn't too overpowering & the super cute heart shape filled with little rosebuds won me over anyway! Finally creamy candy bubble bar is a Lush item I've wanted to try for so long but because I'm not a bath person I've never got round to it! The scent is quite similar to Snow Fairy my all time favourite shower gel (still got a mini backup of this!) but a little more vanilla-ry, an added bonus! Now I've got to decide which one to use first... Has anyone tried any of these bath treats!?

I'm off to go finish making the roast dinner for Dom & I, then it is time for Tilly's evening walk & bath! Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday evening!

january favourites

Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk - Moisturising is no longer a chore for me and to say that is quite an achievement! Smoothie Star has a lovely light formula & smells divine which really encourages me to stop being so lazy and moisturise every day.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo - I absolutely hate having blackheads & excess oil around my nose and chin, but I've never really found anything that is good at combating this problem. I've been using this morning and night after I've cleansed & toned & I've honestly seen amazing results. My pores are refined and seem to be less clogged up than usual, plus Effaclar Duo is great as a makeup base.

Barry M Gelly Nail Paint 'Prickly Pear' - I'd been after a pastel lilac nail polish for ages as it seemed to be the only colour missing from my ridiculous collection and when I saw Barry M had a 3 for 2 offer I decided to try the Hi Shine Gel Effect polishes that a few beauty gurus had raved about! The polish applies well and definitely has a glossy shine to it, which is achieved with only one coat although I do prefer two because the colour isn't opaque enough.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation '010 Light Porcelain' - My Revlon PhotoReady foundation is almost finished and I needed a cheaper foundation to use everyday rather than my YSL touche eclat foundation so when I saw this for only £5 I couldn't leave it behind. The shade is a really good match for my ghostly complexion, coverage is medium and it has a dewy finish, all features I look for in a foundation!

LUSH Popcorn Lip Scrub - Religiously found myself reaching for this handy little scrub throughout January. My lips have been so thankful for this delicious product!

Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic - This little tonic spritzer was included in the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish set I picked up in John Lewis a few weeks ago. I use this after I've cleansed my face with C&P by spraying some on to a cotton pad and wiping it all over my face. My skin feels refreshed and revitalised, ready for the next stage of my skincare & makeup application if I'm using it in the morning.

LUSH snow fairy shower gel

Snow Fairy is a pretty pink shower gel containing sprinkles of blue iridescent glitter and has the yummiest scent I've ever come across! A sweet mix of candy floss and pear drops really does remind me of my childhood, as implied on the bottle. I picked up the 100g to see what the fuss was all about. Only a tiny amount is needed to create lots of lather and bubbles and seriousy soft, soft skin! The best thing about this product? Throughout the day I regularly get hints of the delicious smell. It manages to remain on your skin, even after it's all washed away! The worst thing about this product? It's only available during the festive period! & the price makes me slightly sad, but it's okay because hopefully Santa will bring me a full size version! Also, if you're more of a bath kinda person, don't worry, you can still experience the Snow Fairy magic in the form of the reusable star shaped bubble bar - Magic Wand.

LUSH golden wonder bath bomb

Golden Wonder - £3.25

Lush products are perfect for pampering yourself with on a lazy Sunday afternoon, whether it's using one of their fresh face masks or dropping a fizzing bath bomb into a warm bath! I decided to have a browse in Lush a couple of weeks ago after hearing the Christmas range had launched in store as I wanted to experience the excitement everyone seemed to have for these products! Of course I was absolutely spoilt for choice & spent ages umming & ahhing over which item to purchase, in the end I chose Golden Wonder & a small bottle of the Snow Fairy Shower Gel, but I am already planning my next Lush purchase...

Golden Wonder is a parcel shaped bomb with a fresh citrus smell, of orange, cognac & lime oils, that leaves a fruity scent lingering around the room. An extra to this christmassy treat is the rattle of a surprise inside, we are all guilty of shaking our gifts to try & guess whats it might be, right!?

When I dropped it under running water it began dissolving & fizzing into golden bubbles, which soon turned into a purple & blue mix of colour.

Finally, the bath bomb had finished fizzing away & released lots of tiny golden stars & plenty of glittery shimmer.

My skin has been left lovely & smooth, with no glittery sparkles left behind in my bath or on my skin! I will definitely be stocking up on a few of these before the Christmas season is over, have you tried anything from the Christmas range?

lush skincare review | oatifix face mask

When I was in Manchester last week I popped into the Lush store with my friend Abi, as I wanted to purchase a few things. I asked one of the assistants, (who was amazing, seriously the nicest lady I've ever met, she was so so helpful) if she could point me in the right direction of skincare for dry skin. She sat me down and brought over a lot of different products, which she allowed me to test. Firstly she cleansed my skin with Ultrabland, then applied two different masks on each hand. One was the BB Seaweed, the other being Oatifix. After washing off the masks with warm water she showed me Celestial and Skin Drink, then applied these too. There was so many products she introduced me to, a few others were a toner water & a massage bar, but I really can't remember which ones, I have them written down somewhere though! No word of a lie my skin was SO smooth after the treatment, it was awesome! When my boyfriend picked me up about 4 or 5 hours later my skin still felt amazing, I couldn't believe it.

In the end I purchased the oatifix mask, as I couldn't resist the smell, which is made up of bananas, oatmeal and vanilla, plus the hand she had applied it to felt like it was slightly smoother and more refreshed. I also bought the Whoosh Shower Jelly, as a treat for my boyfriend and this is also AMAZING! Sorry I keep using the word amazing, but I really am amazed by all these products!

I have used oatifix today and I am really pleased with the results. I have dry patches on my forehead, chin and my nose sometimes, I do feel like my skin is so dehydrated, even though I try to drink as much water as possible and I always moisturise! So far my skin feels fresh and appears to be brighter. I am going to use this again in a couple of days to keep up the fresh feeling it has given me! I expected it to apply a little easier than it did do, but it wasn't frustrating or anything, I just warmed it up in my hands a little and smoothed it on quite thickly.

The lady who served me also gave me a free sample of the Ultrabland cleanser as she couldn't stop raving about it, she says it had changed her life! I have used this a couple of times, whilst it does the job perfectly at removing all my makeup it does leave my skin feeling very greasy. I have been told the 9 to 5 Cleansing Milk is really good, so I might try that next time. I've also made a mental note to add Skin Drink to my Christmas list as I couldn't justify spending almost £12 whilst I was in Manchester on my shopping trip, I'd already spent a fortune in Primark!

Have you tried any Lush products? What are your favourites?
