A Cult Beauty Haul

You know when you've been eyeing up products forever, but you're trying to be good so resist buying them until one day an email pops into your inbox with a discount code? Well that happened to me. I kept finding myself on the Cult Beauty website, adding things to my basket then closing the webpage before actually checking out. Then a 15% off code came along & finally gave me the courage to hit the checkout button.

Every single time I would add the same 3 products so I gave into temptation & placed the order. First thing that went straight into the basket was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in the shade Medium Brown (£15.00), I reckon this has been one of the most talked about beauty products in the blogosphere so I'm excited to finally have this little pot of brow goodness in my life!

A favourite from skincare guru Caroline Hirons, Pixi Glow Tonic (£18.00) is another product that is non-stop raved about. A toner that contains glycolic acid which promises to reveal new healthy skin cells whilst also hydrating, soothing & giving your complexion a natural, dewy radiance. It sounds like a miracle worker to me, I'm hoping it will reduce the scars I have from blemishes & keep other imperfections at bay.

Aesop Pasley Seed Facial Cleansing Masque (£27.00) really appealed to me after I read the description "one can do a catch-up cheat with skin care using this Parsley Seed cleansing mask" - in fact its what sold it to me. Admittedly I get a bit lazy with skincare, especially when I've been working a lot of overtime & all I wanna do is crawl into bed rather than stand at the sink scrubbing away my makeup. The mask is said to draw out impurities but doesn't leave your skin feeling tight & provides a heap of antioxidants to perk up a dull complexion. I'll be reporting my findings soon!

Have you shopped on Cult Beauty or tried any of these before?

May Primark Haul

may 2015 primark haul, blogger primark haul, primark pineapple necklace, primark pug socks
primark tassel bucket bag, uk fashion blogger, primark haul may 2015,
primark pug unicorn pyjamas, primark pug pjs, primark may 2015 haul,

As I mentioned in my previous post I had a spree at Primark I thought I'd post some photos of my haul. All of the stuff shown was from the Manchester store & I'm pretty sure it's all reasonably new stock so if you like anything hopefully you'll be able to pick it up from your local store!

First up we spotted the jewellery stands & straight away I noticed the Pineapple chain necklace, it was only £4 so I couldn't resist it. I think it will look cute with a plain top, it's the perfect Summer accessory anyway & even if I never do wear it, at least I can use it as a blog photo prop! I also picked up the trio of necklaces, I really liked the rose quartz one & I'm sure I'll end up wearing the other two sometime. Continuing on the accessory theme, I got myself a new bag! I'm loving the tassel trend at the mo, but with a little Pug around it's not the most practical trend for me to sport, fringed kimonos are a serious no no as I can absolutely guarantee Tilly would be swinging from it! I thought the bucket style bag was a semi-safe option, as I'll mostly be using it out of the house when Tilly isn't with me hopefully I won't end up with half-eaten tassels!

After having a browse we headed upstairs to the PJ section, you can't beat a new pair of pyjamas! I got my hands on the Rugrats short & crop top combo, gutted that someone muddled up the sizes though so I've ended up with a pair of shorts way too big for me! The second pair I bought were pink pj bottoms with a Pugicorn print & keeping with the Pug theme I got some new socks too. Finally we made our way over to the Home section, where I spotted glass jar candles in lots of Summery fragrances. I went for Appletini but I wanna go back & get the Watermelon scent too now. They're only £3, I'm usually a bit of a candle snob & stick to Yankees but I'm actually really impressed with these! I also picked up a chevron print throw which I stupidly packed in a box before I photographed this haul so unfortunately you'll just have to wait & see that when we move into our new house. I really wanted to pick up some of the Pineapple print bedding too, but I didn't feel like carrying that around Manchester all evening so hopefully I can get it in my local store.

What is your favourite item from my haul?

I went to Boots for one thing...

So you know when you say to yourself "oh I'll just pop into Boots to grab some hair dye" and you walk out with a bag full of stuff & your purse £50 lighter!? Yep... I can't seem to restrain myself when it comes to Boots & I know thats quite a common problem with most other beauty bloggers too! I was going to blame the 3 for 2 across all makeup that lured me in & made me cave but I ended up going off course & wandered down most of the aisles, adding things to my basket along the way.

My unexpected haul began at the makeup stands as I "suddenly" remembered that I needed a new liquid liner, which opened my eyes to the 3 for 2 offer so of course I had to take advantage! Before I knew it I had grabbed blushers, foundation, mascara & nail polish, none of which I *really* needed but decided I'd have anyway. I am actually glad I splurged on some new makeup items, makeup is one of the best kinda treats & I am loving the Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes! I also headed over to the haircare aisle in search for a new shampoo & conditioner to try out. I was pretty restrained here & opted for minis rather than full sized! I chose the Toni & Guy Cleanse Shampoo & Conditioner for dry hair along with a bottle of their Sea Salt Texturising spray which I have been obsessed with since getting my hair cut shorter!

This isn't even all of the haul but adding in deodorant, toothpaste & hair dye didn't seem to add anything to the photograph so I took them out! Are you guilty of going into Boots for one thing & coming out with a whole lot more than one item!?

American Food Haul

I don't really share many food posts over on this little blog of mine, which is quite surprising considering my huge amount of love for it! When I lived in London I posted a review of The Breakfast Club in Spitalfields & whilst I was scrolling through old posts for inspiration & ideas I remembered how much I'd enjoyed putting together that piece & made a note, both mental & on my iPhone, to document more foodie things which brings me to today's post, an American food haul!

One evening after Dom had picked me up from work we stopped off at Tesco to pick up something for tea & I was also keen for him to show me the American food aisle that I mentioned in this post. I let the excitement get to me a little too much & even Dom didn't manage to restrain me from spending a slightly silly amount on a certain box of cereal... I did only intend to buy some poptarts as I wasn't expecting to be faced with so much choice, but never mind! It seems I have developed a slight obsession with Peanut Butter recently so naturally I had to buy the Peanut Butter flavoured M&Ms as well as Reese's Puffs. Reese's Peanut Butter cups are my downfall at the moment, whenever I'm buying lunch I can never resist picking up a pack! Reese's Puff cereal is a 100 times better than I anticipated which makes me feel less bad about paying £5 for it, eating it by the handfuls whilst sat in bed is my favourite way to enjoy it haha. The Wrigley's Extra Dessert Delights Mint Chocolate Chip Chewing Gum is something I've seen quite a lot over on Instagram so I was excited to discover it sitting on the shelves amongst all the other American foods. The Strawberry Marshmellow Fluff was actually Dom's pick as he had never tried it before, I prefer the original version though. Finally, last but not least I actually remembered to get the one item I went in for, poptarts, Hot Fudge Sundae flavour! I've been super jealous of America having all these different flavours of gum/m&ms/poptarts that I'm glad I can experience a few of them now without having to fly across the Atlantic Ocean first!

When we get our own place again I definitely want to share some of my favourite recipes, not just cakes & sweet treats but also savoury options like the risotto I seem to forever be cooking & a chicken dish I love to cook on special occasions/when I can be bothered making the effort! Look out for them in the near future (:

i went into boots for one thing...

Powder. Powder was all I needed to go into Boots for. I promised myself I would walk in, grab my powder, head straight to the tills & then walk out. Somehow I ended up in the skincare section as I suddenly remembered I needed more Garnier Micellar Water which lead me to spot an offer on Soap & Glory products. I obviously couldn't resist a third off the 'No Clogs Allowed' & so into the basket that went! Heading over to the makeup aisles in search of a powder obviously didn't go quite to plan either & ended up with an extra two products that I didn't really need. I noticed Revlon products had £3 off which of course gave me the excuse to pick up the PhotoReady Primer. When something is slightly cheaper than usual it's just too good to say no to isn't it!? The final thing I ended up getting was another L'Oreal SuperLiner. Now I do already have quite a stash of eyeliners to get through, but the SuperLiner's are my absolute fave & since Tilly pug ran off & hid the one I'm currently using I just had to buy another didn't I! And that is how I waved goodbye to the best part of £40, it's just so easy to get caught up in all the exciting products & offers!

Boots, you get me every time with your appealing offers, my bank balance is not happy right now...
Please tell me I'm not the only one that walks into Boots for ONE thing & ends up coming out with a bag full of treats!?

models own 50% off sale haul

L-R Express Dry, Utopia, Blueberry Muffin, Lilac Sheen, Pink Veneer - £2.50 each

I really tried to resist this sale as my nail polish collection is out of control but somehow I managed to end up buying 5 things but I did justify each one! Models Own tend to do these sales every year when their Facebook page reaches a certain amount of likes, this year the sale began at 250,000 likes. Infact my nail polish addiction began a few years ago when I first bought a silly amount of polishes from the 50,000 likes sale! I've wanted to get a quick drying top coat for ages now but the £9+ price tags of the ones available in Boots put me off, so when I saw Express Dry I added it to my cart straight away! I decided to repurchase one of my most favourite polishes of all time, Utopia, the photo really doesn't do it any justice though! I also wanted to try out some of the new HyperGel polishes & I wear a lot of blue polish so I picked Blueberry Muffin as my final choice. I've tend to wear pastels the most & already have shades similar to these in my collection but I decided to buy some new ones as most of mine are getting gloopy now so I have some nice fresh pretty pastels perfect for Spring time!

The sale is on until February 4th, simply pick £25 worth of products & enter HALFPRICE at the checkout! I ordered mine on Thursday evening & it arrived this morning, very speedy service considering the volume of orders they will have had because of the sale!

Have you picked up anything from the Models Own sale?

LUSH sale haul

If you didn't already know on Boxing Day Lush reduce all their Christmas stock by 50% which of course is very, very exciting for a Lush addict like myself! I popped along to my local store on Boxing Day as I didn't have any plans until the afternoon so had the chance to do some sale shopping in the morning. I'm kinda glad I had the opportunity to go in to a store because I've seen a few people ranting on Twitter about the slow despatch of their order & I'm way too impatient when it comes to waiting for orders to arrive!

I stocked up on a little & large bottle of Snow Fairy Shower Gel, the little one being an ideal size for when I travel up North to see my family. The large one will last me a long while, my previous bottle lasted from January right through to December, I did use a few other shower gels in between but a little goes a long way with this stuff :) I also bought the Snow Fairy Sparkle Bar which I think will be nice to use just before getting out of a bath as it's made with Shea butter which will keep my skin moisturised. I decided to get the Magic Wand as it's the solid equivalent of Snow Fairy Shower Gel so now I can have lots of sweet scented bubble baths!

I had to pick up another little Penguin, it was one of my favourite in the Christmas range & was less than £1.50 in the sale! I did buy two of these but gave one to my Mum so she could try it too. Finally Star Light, Star Bright bath melt is a shimmery silver star that leaves silver lustre everywhere, I loved how zesty & fresh it smelt though so I'm looking forward to using this, apparently this makes the bath water look like a turquoise silvery pool of star light which sounds pretty!

Did you pick up anything from the Lush sale?

bourjois 3 for 2 at boots

I spied a 3 for 2 offer on Bourjois products at Boots & I couldn't resist. The three things I've chosen are all influenced by other bloggers especially the lip crayon - I swear I've read about 2083298 reviews of them! I bought the chocolate bronzer as I'm a n00b to bronzing products, being pale I didn't ever consider using one but I decided to go ahead & try it anyway. Finally the 1 seconde nail polish, another product that has been all over the blogosphere. I really didn't need to buy another blue shade of polish but I was just drawn to 'Blue on Blues', I love turquoise/mint/blue on my nails!

What's your fave Bourjois product?

lush treats

Now I work full time 9-6 every day I am so so tired & literally have no time to myself, so when I got off the train at Waterloo & spotted the Lush store I headed straight there to pick up a few treats! All I knew was I wanted some pretty looking, sweet smelling bath bombs to be able to relax in a hot bubbly bath in the evenings after a long day. Also I felt it was completely necessary to buy some bath treats as I've moved to a flat where I finally feel comfortable actually having a bath... living in a mouse-infested/messy/smelly student house I just couldn't bring myself to sit in the grim looking bath, no matter how much bleach or cleaning products I used there was just no way!

I chose Tisty Tosty, Butterball & Creamy Candy. I told the sales assistant I was after a vanilla scented bath bomb so she directed me to Butterball which is filled with cocoa butter too, perfect to protect my skin. Tisty Tosty was recommended to me by the sales assistant, I'm not usually a fan of floral scented products but this isn't too overpowering & the super cute heart shape filled with little rosebuds won me over anyway! Finally creamy candy bubble bar is a Lush item I've wanted to try for so long but because I'm not a bath person I've never got round to it! The scent is quite similar to Snow Fairy my all time favourite shower gel (still got a mini backup of this!) but a little more vanilla-ry, an added bonus! Now I've got to decide which one to use first... Has anyone tried any of these bath treats!?

I'm off to go finish making the roast dinner for Dom & I, then it is time for Tilly's evening walk & bath! Hope you are all having a lovely Sunday evening!

little things i've bought recently

Nivea Express Hydration Primer Dry/Sensitive (£4.99) - I'd seen this product featured on YouTube adverts quite a lot and I don't really use a primer so thought I'd try this as it's a combination of both a moisturiser and primer!

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover (£4.99) - This nail polish remover has been featured a huge amount in the beauty blogging world over the past few months and I'd been dying to see what the fuss was about. As it was included in Boots 3 for 2 I was persuaded to buy it & I'm kinda glad I did! I'll put a full review up soon.

L'Oreal Top Coat 'Confetti' (£4.99) - After seeing the Illamasqua speckled nail polish I really wanted to recreate a similar effect but without the ridiculous price tag. This was under five pounds & I can have speckled nails in any colour I wish! I haven't stopped wearing this over the top of various pretty pastel shades since I bought it!

Real Techniques Setting Brush (£8.99) - Another RT brush to add to my collection, justified by the excuse "I need a brush to apply my MAC mineralize skin finish with!" I'm probably also going to use this to powder my face but it's the perfect size to highlight with.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara (7.99) - I don't tend to try many different mascaras, I just stick to what is cheap, usually Rimmel, because my eyelashes don't need much help with volume or length really. I'm not actually sure why I bought this in the end but I'm sure it'll be great, I know Tanya Burr swears by it anyway!

L'Oreal Superliner Perfect Slim 'Black Intense' (£6.99) - The L'Oreal Superliners are my favourite liquid eye liners, they're easy peasy to use, really black rather than that annoying 'faded' black shade and they don't flake.

Topshop Lip Liner 'Deception' (£5.00 or £4.50 with student discount!) - My all time favourite lipstick is Topshops Beguiled and Deception is very similar in colour. It will be perfect to help it last even longer, especially for nights out.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Shadow Stick '008 Blackmail' (£5.99) - I hadn't really heard about these shadow sticks before until I spotted them in the Rimmel counter. I was going to pick another colour but fear that it wouldn't suit me got the better of me & I stuck to trusty black. I've actually been using this more like a kohl eyeliner, it's super super pigmented but also really soft & creamy meaning application is gentle. I really like the idea of these, I might pick up the bronzey coloured one next!

River Island Gold Heart Thumb Ring (£2) - I had this on a wishlist post a while ago, it's the tiniest, cutest ring ever, I love it!

Have you tried any of these products!? Let me know in the comments! (:

brick lane haul

Levi Shorts - £18 | Baby blue jumper - £18 | Tartan blazer - £24

On Saturday Dom & I popped to Brick Lane as I wanted to have a little look in some of the shops. Whenever I go with my friends or sister they always end up finding some beautiful gems & I decided it was about time I stopped being lazy & actually had a proper root through to see what was hiding away! I went into a few shops along the way, whilst heading for Beyond Retro. At first I was ridiculously disappointed with Beyond Retro, but I am so so glad I gave it a second chance & had another look. When I laid my eyes on the tartan blazer I knew it had to be mine, I've wanted one for so long but missed out on the River Island one. I tried it on straight away & although it's a little big on the arms it's my favourite thing ever! I know it's probably not to everyones taste, but it looks much better in real life & I think it'll be so handy for spring/summer when it's warmer & there is no need for a proper coat (thats if we get a decent summer this year!). Dom then suggested looking at the 50% off rail, which I thought would be full of rubbish but he picked out the cute baby blue jumper for me & as it was only £10 I couldn't leave it behind! My aim of visiting Brick Lane was to buy some new denim shorts as my old ones have shrunk & too much bum cheek is visible... Beyond Retro didn't have much choice so I headed to Blitz which is another huge vintage store & I was lucky enough to find the Levi 501's in not only the colour I've been after but also my size! I was told I'd struggle to find smaller sizes on Brick Lane as they sell fast! Blitz seem to always have 10% off if you present a flyer to them when purchasing & you're pretty much guaranteed to be given one whilst walking down Brick Lane! I thought £18 was a really good price for Levi high waisted shorts as I paid £30 for a pair of the Topshop version a few years ago & on eBay they often sell for alot more.

Have you ever been to Brick Lane before? What are your favourite vintage finds!?

boxing day

Starbucks Gift Set (£5) | Daisy Perfume Set (£24.99) | Snow Fairy Shower Gel (£5.12)

Dom & I got up early(ish) on Boxing Day as I needed to go say goodbye to my Mum, Stepdad & little Sister, Leah, as they had to drive back home to Leicester. Rather than go back to bed we decided to head into town to have a little look at the sales & get some breakfast whilst we were out. Firstly we exchanged a few things that had been bought in the wrong sizes, then we headed to Boots as I knew all the gift sets would be half price! I wasn't really intending on buying anything because I got lots of beauty bits & pieces, but I like looking anyway! We spotted the Starbucks mugs which were reduced to £5 so grabbed one each as I had been after one for ages & these came with two little candy canes & some coffee! Then we looked at perfume deals as I have completely run out, I either wanted Manifesto by YSL or Daisy by Marc Jacobs, Manifesto was still pricey but I couldn't believe my luck when I found the Daisy set in The Perfume Shop for just £24.99! It was meant to be £50 so I quickly snapped this pretty little set up. At 11am we walked down to Lush to see a queue forming outside, lots of people excited & eager to pick up some Christmas bargains. When the doors opened it was absolutely manic, I've never experienced anything like it! Everyone was grabbing the gift boxes & going crazy, one girl had around 10 bottles of Snow Fairy in her arms! I was about to give up when I spotted a stash in the corner, so I hurried Dom over to get a few bottles. Its my favourite smell ever, it's so sweet & I knew I needed to stock up so with 50% off I couldn't resist! I'm going to give one to Abi & my sister though as I already have way too many shower products & Snow Fairy lasts such a long time anyway, my 100g bottle is still pretty full & I've had it for over a month!

Did you pick up any bargains in the sales?

a little haul

It’s been such a pain trying to post this, I’m in London at the moment and currently don’t have an Internet connection at my new house! I had planned to go across the road to the library but lost track of time and had to be elsewhere. Here I am at Doms uncle’s house in Old Street, tethering my iPhone so I could quickly upload! I’m on the third floor of the house and my laptop refuses to connect to the wifi here, so thank you iPhone for saving the day, once again!

I thought I’d blog about what I’ve bought recently as these are one of my favourite kinda posts to read from other bloggers, probably because I’m so nosey... I definitely wish I was brave enough to create a YouTube video for this post, it’d make my life a lot easier as I can sense I will have loads to type about!

Everybody loves a Yankee candle and after buying quite a few various scents in sampler size I thought it was time to buy a proper jar! Vanilla cupcake is my all time favourite smell, but I also love Mango Peach Salsa after getting it for Dom (yes my boyfriend likes candles haha) and Strawberry Buttercream is heavenly! I cannot wait for all the Christmas scents to appear in the shops, especially Christmas Cookie, mmm.

I bought the Aussie shampoo, conditioner & three minute miracle reconstructor full size after I tried out the minis of all 3. My hair/scalp is quite sensitive so I often buy the mini version of a shampoo first to see if I can cope with it! I’m going to write a proper review on these products as my hair loves them and I’ve seen such a difference. I bought these when they were on offer in Tesco, 3 for £10, and I think Boots are currently running a similar offer.

St Ives Apricot Scrub was a much loved product during my early teens. I’ve never had particularly bad skin, luckily, so this is ideal to purely freshen up my skin in the morning!

MUA reached 25,000 likes on Facebook and to celebrate they offered 25% discount on orders over £10 plus free postage, obviously I couldn’t resist this! I’ve been meaning to pick up the Heaven & Earth palette for ages now but found it hard to get hold of, so I’m glad I finally own this! I also bought the Undressed palette as I’ve heard it’s a great dupe for Urban Decays Naked2 palette. The blusher is shade 4 and has quickly become my go to blusher, it is super pigmented though so a little goes a long way. I did buy a lipstick too, shade 15 or ‘Juicy’ but I gave this to my sister as she wanted a peach/nude toned lipstick but was yet to find the perfect one until now, well done MUA!

L’oreal Liquid Superliner is my current eyeliner, it’s easy to use and lasts all day. I’d like to try some other liquid eyeliners though, please feel free to leave me some suggestions (:

I really hoped I wouldn’t fall in love with anything from the latest Essie collection, but of course I want almost all six shades! I really liked Mojito Madness, it’s a perfect grass green & Fear or Desire is a fab, fiery orange colour but I managed to decide on Bikini so Teeny eventually. I can’t fault the Essie polishes though, they apply so nicely and last well.

Why has Primark been SO good the past couple of weeks!? All my recent wardrobe purchases have been from there! I am over the moon that I finally got my hands on the khaki/leather jacket that is an amazing dupe of the Zara/River Island/Topshop version, plus it was less than half the price. The cream chunky knit jumper is super cosy and has cute coffee coloured elbow patches too! Finally I picked up the black studded bag for uni as it will fit A4 folders in, plus my laptop and anything with studs is a must for me! I NEED the studded clutch bag that lots of you seem to have, I’m going on a hunt for it tomorrow in fact...

Keep an eye out for upcoming outfit posts featuring the clothes I’ve shown above and also full reviews of the products I purchased!

recent buys!

Recently I have been going a crazy and spending a fortune, I wanted to update my wardrobe a little as I feel like I always wear the same old outfits! I've also bought quite a lot of new products to try out, so some of these feature in this post too! Above are a few of my purchases, sorry I've used photographs from the internet rather than my own images, my camera is currently charging so I'm hoping to feature a few of these things in outfit posts/full reviews!

Topshop petite dark wash denim shirt - I finally found the perfect denim shirt! I can't even remember how long I've been searching for a shirt like this, so when I saw it in Manchester yesterday I ran over and grabbed it. I think everyone needs a denim shirt in their wardrobe, they're a great staple item and can be worn in so many different ways. This cost £32, but I got student discount.

Topshop basic crop tee - I LOVE these! I'm so glad I got hold of one, even though it's been raining and quite chilly in England recently I'm hoping it warms up so I can wear it with my other recent purchase DISCO PANTS! I bought those when American Apparel emailed their subscribers a 30% discount code. I feel like my life is complete now they are in my life (saddo)! (£8)

Soap & Glory flake away body scrub - I've heard good things about this exfoliating scrub so I thought I'd give it a whirl! I did only buy it in the travel size just in case I didn't like it, plus I adore mini products, but I absolutely love this stuff. The smell is amazing, and it's not rough on my skin either which is great. My skin feels lovely after using this. I will definitely be repurchasing the full size! (£2.50)

Essie mint candy apple nail polish - Okay so I really did jump on the bandwagon with this product, but I couldn't resist the colour sorry! I think it applies quite nicely, and if you use a topcoat it will last ages. I recently painted my nails with this colour as a base and then did leopard print accent nails, see my instagram (loulabeth) for a picture! (7.99)

Spike earrings - I found these via Victorias blog vipxo, as she does an eBay post each week, which I love to read! The earrings arrived super quick, considering they were from Hong Kong and they are a good size, not too big or too small! also, they are ridiculously cheap which is another bonus! (£1.39)

Hope you're all having a lovely sunday afternoon, I'm about to go and tuck into a roast dinner, mm!
