wednesday wishlist #5

one | two | three | four | five | six | seven | eight | nine

Red Tartan Scarf: forever running into any h&m store I see to try & track down this damn scarf! no luck so far, & I'm really unwilling to pay postage for one little item...

Lord Pug Necklace: I love pugs, so how could I say no to this!?

Teddy Robe: So snuggly & cozy, perfect for the chilly nights that are already here!

Christmas Cookie Yankee Candle: My sister bought a little sampler of this last year, it's such a sweet vanilla scent, very similar to my all time favourite Vanilla cupcake, but as the holidays are approaching a Christmassy version makes sense!

Ren Skincare Kit for Normal Skin: Possibly already bought this as it was available on ASOS earlier with 25% off! I'm looking forward to trying out some decent skincare products.

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star: I'm yet to try a Soap & Glory moisturiser, but I have so much love for their products & the packaging is extra cute too!

Models Own Wonderland Collection: I already own far too many glitter polishes, but a few more can't hurt right!?

Topshop Crescent Moon Highlighter: I've actually been meaning to pick this up for a while now, everyt ime I'm in store I swatch it but never seem to walk out with it! I know this shade would be a nice match for my ghostly pale skin too (:

ASOS Cable Knit Mittens: These even have fleecy lining, my hands would be so snug! I wish these were available in cream, burgundy or navy though as the red & cobalt blue options wouldn't match with much in my wardrobe.

models own mirrorball collection

(Hot Stuff | Boogie Nights | Freak Out! | Dancing Queen | Disco Inferno)

When Models Own announced this collection a couple of months ago I instantly fell in love & knew I needed to get my hands on it! I'm obsessed with having my nails painted, especially a quick swipe of glitter over a neutral polish to add a little sparkle! The collection consists of five polishes, but rather than a fine glitter they're filled with chunky holographic pieces in circle, square & triangle shapes, creating a disco ball effect. I picked up the whole collection, plus Snow White & Beach Party for only £20 at the Bottleshop in Westfield. Models Own often have really good promotions on in their store, so it's worth a look!

(Hot Stuff | Boogie Nights | Freak Out! | Dancing Queen | Disco Inferno - One Coat, over Models Own 'Snow White')
Please excuse the skin around my nails, it's an awful habit of mine to pick the skin when I'm anxious/nervous ):

(Hot Stuff | Boogie Nights | Freak Out! | Dancing Queen | Disco Inferno - Two Coats, again over 'Snow White')

I honestly can't decide which is my favourite, I'm looking forward to trying these out over colours, e.g Hot Stuff over a baby pink shade! My friend Abi created this look when she stayed at mine in London which looks awesome, I'm also going to try these colours out over black and see how that works. There are so many options with these glitters, I expect to be wearing at least one of them at all times!

One downside to this polish is the drying time. If you're only applying one coat then there are no problems, but I noticed that it took so much longer than any other Models Own polish I've used to dry! A little bit frustrating as I'm used to layering up glitters as I know they dry pretty quick, but I think it's because the clear polish is slightly thicker than any others. Abi & I found this out the hard way when we kept smudging our sparkly nails all over my bedsheets & I also managed to get a clump in my hair... glam life! (:

Which is your favourite polish from the mirrorball collection?

Firstly, I need to apologise for being MIA for around a month now, but for also having two 'Instagram' style posts in a row. I didn't want to return to blogging without a little update though!

So, where have I been!? The last time I posted was the day I moved back to London to begin my second year of university, but even before that I was posting quite irregularly... Since moving back to London I have been alot busier than I planned to be, plus we only had the internet installed on Tuesday night. In a nutshell I have done the following: worked as a student ambassador/been getting to know my new housemates, especially with nail painting sessions in the kitchen!/had an interview/Dom came to visit/various nights out... including Fabric!/travelled back up North/helped my little sister move to London/completed uni work & assessments/& of course I've been shopping!

I'm currently back up North again because I had to return for a friends 21st last night (they also got engaged, cutest thing ever! I can't believe I'm at the age now where my friends are getting engaged, having babies etc!), I also went shopping with my Dad yesterday & I surprised Abi by visiting her at work! Today I've been to visit my Nana & Grandad & little brother, Harry :) had a lovely Sunday lunch! It might not seem like I've been that busy, but for some reason when I'm in London the time actually whizzes by! I got to see Dom last night for the first time in eight days, which of course I was super super super excited about & I'm really enjoying being back home. London is amazing, but it can be a really difficult place to live in, so I'm thankful to have a bit of a breather this weekend.

Hope this post is okay as a little refresher, I have tonnes of stuff to blog about so my blog should gain some normality again over the next few weeks!

NOTD #2 - models own ombré nails

(Blooboo | Pastel Pink | Pink Blush)

After seeing this tutorial on Coleyyyfuls blog I decided I needed to try it out! Its really, really easy and although mine didn't turn out as neat as hers, it still looks really awesome :) I will be trying this out with lots of different colours and also adding the leopard print design too next time.

Do you enjoy doing nail art?

Hope you're all okay & having a nice weekend, I did a carboot with Dom today, mix that up with being hungover & getting a burnt nose pretty much resulted in a disaster!! It wasn't what I was expecting anyway but nevermind :)

NOTD #1 - models own & technic

A quick nails of the day post! This is my favourite combination of nail polishes ever, I'd say its my most worn look. It's so easy to create and goes with every outfit!

The models own polish is in the shade utopia, which I've used over half the bottle of - this never happens! I absolutely love the colour, its the perfect neutral colour but has a lilac, pink tone to it, I'm awful at describing colours! I think models own polishes apply really nicely, they can be a little thick sometimes and it lasts around 3 days without chipping or a topcoat, with a topcoat it can last over a week for me!

The glitter polish is by technic, which I picked up in bodycare for 99p! Its called carnival and is a perfect dupe for the OPI rainbow connection. I could go on about how much I love this glitter, but I won't! The only downside I found is that it can be a pain to get off, but that is a known fact about glitter polish, I havn't found any easy way to remove them yet, I tend to find myself picking most of it off, oops. Has anyone got any glitter polish removal tips and tricks? Please let me know!
