breton stripes & denim

Denim Jacket - Topshop
Stripey Top - Topshop
Leggings - H&M
Shoes - Primark
Midi Ring - Topshop
Nail Polish - Rimmel 'Peppermint'

I admit defeat. I can honestly say I really admire fashion bloggers who stand in front of their camera everyday & manage to take good quality photos that they are happy with. I dunno how you do it guys! I absolutely love sharing outfits on my blog, I always get a good response & it breaks it up from just having a constant stream of beauty posts. However I really suck at outfit photos & I can't pose at all!! Practice makes perfect hmm... we shall see haha! I don't actually want to give up completely but I think it is time to invest in a better camera & a tripod, unless anyone has any tips? I currently balance my old compact camera on top of a stack of boxes on my sofa & run back & forward to put it on self timer... not ideal!

Anyway, onto the outfit! I'm wearing a Topshop Breton Stripe top which is actually meant to be a dress but it shrunk by a ridiculous amount so now it has to be worn with leggings, which I'm really gutted about but I still love it. My denim jacket is also from Topshop, I originally wanted a Levis but opted for this instead as I really liked the fit on me & the shearling inside it. Even though it's summer it's hardly ever THAT warm in the UK so I don't really mind the shearling & I always feel the cold anyway so extra layers are always good. My shoes are brown loafers from good old Primark, they're actually surprisingly comfy considering how cheap they are. They are looking a little worse for wear now but I have worn them loads! I always tend to wear this outfit when I'm going shopping or for a day out as it's super comfy & casual. Finally, an outfit post wouldn't be an outfit post from me without Tilly pug gatecrashing & having a little pose too. She's wearing a floral pink harness from eBay aha.

Black Fluffy Cardigan - Primark
Black Cami Vest - Topshop
Cut Out Boots - New Look
Outfit posts are actually one of my favourite kinda posts to share on my blog but because I don't really have a decent camera/tripod/etc I find it quite a chore to snap photos of what I'm wearing! Dom often helps out but I'm trying to be more productive during the weekdays on my days off & whilst he's at work I obviously can't ask him to take any photographs. Today I tried & pretty much failed, all you fashion bloggers make it look so easy! I'm sharing the best of a very, very bad bunch & they still really aren't great but lets hope this is a one off & next time will be a little better... they say practice makes perfect anyway! I used to share the occasional outfit in the past & always had a good response to them so I do really want to keep trying rather than give up completely, any useful tips will be much appreciated! Also... how on earth do you fashion bloggers photograph black outfits/clothing so well!? Please let me know! Anyways, Tilly wanted to say a little hello & joined in on the photos - maybe I should just post pug outfit photos rather than my own outfits haha, she does have quite a big wardrobe for a little doggy!

motel vintage paisley print penny dress

(moody bitch face haha)
Cardigan - Primark
Shoes - Urban Outfitters

wah how pretty is this dress? I won't lie, I've worn it SO much but I just love it!! I'd been after something paisley for a while, mainly a shirt but most of them seemed to be in dark colours & I wanted to inject some colour into my wardrobe so when I spied this on the Motel it was literally love at first sight. It's an oversized smock dress, a style that can look absolutely hideous on my small frame but Motel seem to have got something right with the sizing because this is just the perfect amount of oversized-ness (is that a word?). Other smock dresses I've tried completely drowned me & looked really unflattering, I'm looking at you ASOS, so I'm really pleased I found one that fits nicely! I possibly own the exact style in 3 different prints now, oops. The cardigan is the fluffy primark one that is a current blogger fave atm, it's amazing though, super fluffy & cosy, perfect for snuggling in when it's coldddd! Dom says I'm like a teddy bear when I wear it haha. I've worn this dress on a night out with black wedges & lil ankle socks (sorry the pic is sooo bad) but also casual with flats or sandals. Also a little bit of topic from the outfit but I'm so pleased with my hair atm. I was going through a stage of hating it because it was in the worst condition ever & I couldn't cope it was just awful but I decided to be strict with my haircare routine & it's never looked better! Thank you Philip Kingsley Elasticizer,  you life/hair saver!! Anywayssss I'll probably do a post on that this week, I'm off to prepare the Sunday roast for us now (:

black & white stripey dress

Dress - Motel
Denim Shirt - Topshop
Bowler Hat - ASOS
Gold Chain - h&m
Gold Heart Ring - River Island
Shoes - Topshop

This is a little outfit I wore when Dom & I went for brunch at the breakfast club in Spitalfields. I love this Motel dress so much, it's slightly oversized on me & I'm wearing an XS but I actually really like the way it fits. Usually oversized style dresses look awful on me because I'm so small I look drowned but this is so flattering. I put the denim shirt over the top but it was such a nice day weather wise I didn't really need it. I keep meaning to pick up a denim jacket though, I don't really like using this shirt as a jacket, it just doesn't look how I want it to!

Dom took these photos in my grim little backyard at my student house, I wanted to go somewhere else but I totally forgot when we were out that day so it had to do! I wish I had more confidence to get street style kinda snaps but I'd feel like a massive idiot... any tips!?

tartan blazer & skinny jeans

Tartan Blazer - Beyond Retro
Grey Top - Monki
Bag - Zara
 Glasses - Firmoo*

Today Dom & I went for a walk in the sunshine, I had a few bills to pay & then we decided to go to Costa for a late lunch. It was so so so nice to finally have a day with sunshine & be able to leave the house without a scarf & thick coat! This is the first time I've worn this blazer since mentioning I bought it in this post. I love it but I'm one of those people that gets nervous to wear something, which is really silly! I'm glad I wore it today though, it was ideal because it was slightly windy so it kept me warm when necessary (: I think it makes quite a simple outfit stand out a bit! My glasses are real glasses btw, not just posey fake ones, I am actually a little blind, wah... not actually blind blind but I struggle to see things far away! Not much else to say about this outfit really, apart from the fact my Zara bag is the bestest bag I've ever owned. It's not one of those annoyingly small bags that you can't fit anything in but it's not ridiculous & oversized (although oversized bags are faaaaab) so I don't end up carrying around loads of unnecessary junk! I'm going to do an updated whats in my bag post soon I think!

How did you spend your day? I hope you've all enjoyed the lovely sunshine!

Bowler Hat - ASOS | Boyfriend Coat - Missguided | Jumper - Topshop | Jeans - Topshop | Spiked Shoes - Sheinside | Bag - Zara | Lipstick - Topshop 'Beguiled'

First outfit post of 2013 & to be honest, the first one in ageeeees! Outfit posts are my favourite but I always struggle to get decent photos in my room & have to wait until I can make my boyfriend snap some shots of me haha, thanks Dom (:

I got this coat last year for only £30, I'd been after a similar version in Topshop but it was way over £100 so when I found this one my Mum got it for my birthday. I'm forever wearing my bowler hat at the moment, I prefer it to a bobble hat as it doesn't get soggy with all the snow & rain! I bought my first pair of jeans in years after hearing lots of good things about the Topshop Leigh jeans, I love how skinny they fit, it really annoys me when 'skinny jeans' are baggy. They're really comfy too, considering they're quite tight fitting & I even have a pair of primark super cosy tights on underneath, I don't feel trapped! I was lucky enough to win my spiked shoes when Kim held a giveaway for $100 to spend at Sheinside waaaay back in August & I've yet to show them on my blog! Whenever I wear them I either get strange looks or told they're amazing & I should probably stop pretending to kick people with them because I'm going to end up actually kicking someone one day & it'd be pretty painful! They're quite furry though so I've swapped into my Chelsea boots to walk to uni in, that way then don't get soggy from the snowy pavements!

I am absolutely loving the snowfall in London, I'm like a little kid, I always get so so excited when it snows! It has even made the grim little area I live in quite pretty, snow makes everything so much nicer!  I've been playing in the snow all morning, taking photos with my housemates & throwing snowballs at each other, Dom included, in fact Dom started the fight, meanie! I'm now heading to the library to study for a bit as I've been so distracted by the snow all weekend I've done nothing... tonight we will be at spoons having our usual Sunday evening burger & drink deal! Yesterday I went to Brick Lane for browse & ended up buying a few things which I'll do a little post on tomorrow.

Hope you're all having fun in the snow & keeping safe!

Jacket - Primark
Jumper - Primark
Skirt - H&M
Bobble Hat - Primark
Nails - Essie Bikini So Teeny & Models Own Disco Mix

Finally an outfit post! I've honestly not stopped wearing this jacket since I picked it up a couple of weeks ago in Primark, I did originally want the River Island version as I prefer the shade of khaki, yes I'm being picky over a shade & the leather look sleeves look better quality! Sadly I couldn't justify the price, I shouldn't really have bought this one either as I am SO poor atm, student life is rubbish! Even so, I am still ridiculously happy with this little jacket & I've had loads of compliments on it too!

I'm also obsessed with this jumper, again from Primark, its so comfy & I love the oversized fit. I normally buy knitwear in a few sizes bigger than my usual size but this is a size 8 & fits just how I like! I also picked up the bobble hat for only £2 as they're one of my fave things to wear. I seriously wish it was socially acceptable to wear bobble hats anywhere & everywhere because I feel I look a lot better when I wear one haha. Plus they're perfect for hiding bad hair days!

come as you are

Shirt - H&M | Levi shorts - Vintage shop (unsure!) | Bag - Primark

Super quick post, this is one of my 'go to' outfits at the moment, I enjoy pretty simple outfits really! I bought the shirt a few months ago, I had a stage of being obsessed with pretty sheer shirts, well I still am, they're perfect to wear casually or dressed up! The photos don't really show off the shirt at its best, especially the floral collar detail. The Levi shorts are actually my sister's as my beloved Topshop denim shorts are just TOO short now & I fear the whole world can see my bum when I wear them!! So I need to invest in a new pair, but for now stealing my sister's works just as well. I'm also wearing my little leopard 'pixie' boots that I picked up from Primark a while ago. No jewellery as I'm at Doms in Leeds and forgot to pack it... silly me! I'm actually not happy with my blog photos at all at the moment, I think I'm just struggling to get the right composition, I need to invest in a tripod, which I'm sure will make my life a little easier!

little grey dress

(Grey dress - Primark | Jacket - H&M | Frilly socks - Topshop | Underground Creepers - Office | Ring - Primark (old!) | Spike necklace - eBay)

Here is a quick outfit post today, not entirely happy with the photos but they will do! I missed Dom being my photographer haha, I balanced a load of boxes on my bed to act as a tripod for these!

The grey dress is a dupe of the Topshop speckle dress that almost everybody has, I searched everywhere for that damn dress but was never lucky enough to get my hands on it, so when I discovered this in Primark I snapped it up immediately. Primark sizing is ridiculous though, this is too big for me round the waist which is annoying, but I bought a pair of pjs in the same size and they are too tight for me... make up your mind Primark!

Quite a simple outfit today really, the weather is being strange, I normally wear black tights with this dress but decided to be abit more summery with the socks and clear tights, I'm not brave enough to have completely bare legs though! Not much else to say, I'm trying to be as productive as I can be today, so far so good, I got up at 9am which is almost unbelievable for me nowadays...

disco crosses

(Velvet Shirt - eBay | Cross Top - Primark | Disco Pants - AA | Lipstick - MUA, Shade 1 | Nail Polish - Models Own, Disco Mix)

Finally, here is my first outfit post! I managed to convince Dom to snap some photos of me, which he did quite well, considering he isn't creative at all, bless him. We ended up using his iPhone 4 camera, as my camera died seconds before we were about to take the first photo, annoying but the quality isn't too bad luckily.

I am absolutely in love with my disco pants, I can't stop wearing them, I really do think they are worth the £70 price tag, although I managed to get them for £49 when AA gave their subscribers 30% off! I've noticed alot of dupes are available, including a pair by Glamorous, which are the best I've seen so far, a little bit gutting after I'd splurged on the real thing but nevermind.

The top half of my outfit is a complete bargain really, with the velvet shirt costing just 99p from eBay and the top was £6 from Primark. The top reminded me of a jersey dress I had seen in Topshop a while back, which was also embellished with silver beaded crosses, but there was no way I could justify the price... even though I can justify the price of disco pants haha. Primark also sold the top in cream with gold beaded crosses, which of course I also bought, I couldn't resist at that price!

I've been wearing my hair up an awful lot recently, which I don't really like but deal with it because I'm in desperate need of a haircut! I've been growing my hair for a year now, it has finally got to a nice length but all the layers have grown out so my hair is a massive frizzball that needs sorting out ASAP! I have really thick hair anyway but I used to have it thinned out every 6-8 weeks so it's actually nice to have a load of volume back in it. I need a proper fringe back in my life too, I used to have a full on emo fringe which I was so proud of hahaha ~loser~ but I really miss it so I'm gonna snip it back in properly when I'm feeling brave enough!

Oh! and I didn't show my shoes in these because I was wearing little leopard ankle boots that didn't really match, I would have preferred my creepers but I didn't have them at Doms house ): and I'm sorry some of the pictures have a slight blue blur to the right of them, the phone case slid over the lense abit, hope this okay for my first outfit post!

Have any of you got AA disco pants? What is your favourite way to wear them? :)

leopard studs

Leopard Shirt - £6.55 | eBay | Zara
Studded Shirt - £13.76 | eBay | Zara

Over the past couple of weeks I've been ridiculous and spent an actual fortune on eBay, I can't help myself though because there are so many bargains to be found! I came across these two shirts, but couldn't decide if I should risk buying them as they were from China and I am impatient when waiting for parcels to be delivered. I went ahead anyway and to my surprise they arrived within 10 days!

I was nervous to buy these shirts because they are listed as one size, and I am quite small so I didn't want them to drown me, luckily they both fit nicely, a little oversized but thats okay :) They are both dupes of very popular Zara shirts, the leopard one even has a Zara label attached to it! Overall  I am amazed with the quality of these two shirts, especially for the price of them! The price of the studded shirt has increased slightly since I bought it, but the original one from Zara cost almost £60 before the sale. I can't wait to take some photos of me wearing them.

Have you ever bought anything from overseas on eBay, if so did you have a good experience? Do you like buying dupes of popular items or would you prefer to buy the real thing?
